Tinubu intervenes For Nigerians on UAE Visa Ban Crisis


Tinubu intervenes on UAE visa ban, Emirate Airlines crisis.

On Thursday being 24th August, 2023, President Bola Tinubu requested an immediate resolutive action to be taken with regards the disagreements between Nigeria and United Arab Emirates which has affected emirate airlines and approval of visas to Nigeria.

President Tinubu also noted that countries in Africa are in a better position of breaking the barrier of economic and security challenges. Africans can do this by focusing on internal solutions and walking the talk on all of its pledges and agreements.

The President stated stated this while receiving Letters of Credence from three envoys at the State House: Ambassador of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Mr. Awall Wagris Mohammed; Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba, Mrs. Miriam Morales Palmero, and Ambassador of United Arab Emirate, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi.

In a brief meeting with the Ambassador of Ethiopia, President Tinubu the envoy an assurance that Nigeria will continue to keep a strong relationship with African countries with regards grande and economic growth. In his words the President said;

"Africans need to work for the progress of Africa. We should be able to resolve our internal problems, collectively. It requires a great commitment, but we must do that. No one can understand our people better than we do. Home-grown solutions are better for all of us, and the remedies will last longer,"

For his (President Tinubu) impact in the policies on the continent and the decisions he has taken in the country Nigeria, Mohammed congratulated him while giving his assurance and conviction to improve the Nigerian-Ethiopian relationship.

In another meeting with the Ambassador of Cuba, President Tinubu commended the nation for excelling in the advancement of indigenous medical sciences and accessible health care at the grassroots, all while ensuring the stability of their surrounding region.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu also noted the various cultural resemblance Nigeria and Cuba both have - while stressing that these cultural resemblance can be exploited to improve the lives of it's citizens. Areas the President mentioned was; tourism, and other economic sectors.In his words President Tinubu told the envoy;

"We should collaborate more in science and technology, an area that will improve the lives of our people, particularly the youthful population Nigeria is so blessed with,".

While having a talk with the UAE Ambassador, President Tinubu noted that issues affecting the relationship between the Emirates Airline, and aporoval of visas to Nigerians should be resolved with immediate effect. The President also stresses that he is prepared to intervene in the countries behalf. In his words, the President said;

"We are a family with UAE, we only live in separate rooms, but we are in the same house. We should look at the issues as a family problem, and resolve it amicably. As you know in every family, there are peculiarities. You can have an erring son or daughter, but we must work together. We need to agree on core aviation and immigration issues".

The Ambassador stated that he sees himself as from a Nigerian descend, taking into consideration the history of the country, the leadership part played in Africa and the hospitality that the country show to strangers. In his words the UAE Ambassador said;

"Since I arrived in the country, I have been working on 24 agreements. We are getting somewhere. These are small issues, all within a family, and they will be resolved. I am grateful to be here in Nigeria. I am also very grateful to meet His Excellency, President Tinubu, who is a great leader in Nigeria, and Africa. Please accept me as a Nigerian and consider me a member of your team".
